Novels like Anandmath, Durge...This is a great idea. Novels like Anandmath, Durgesh Nandini etc by Bankim Chattopadhaya had started the trend. But later writers of 20 and 21st century have not presented the country's great events in fictional form. Say the love life of Razia Sultana and private life of MK Gnadhi were never presented in novel form. Except Amar Chitra Katha there is no other kind of popular projection of the heritages of the country. As you study the history Malaysia and Indonesia you would find that last Hindu king of Malaya was converted to Islam as he wanted to marry an Arab traders daughter.
